In 2014, Centennial will be adding another 15-miles to the already popular Gunnison River. This addition involves paddling through 7-miles of the beautiful Gunnison Gorge, just east of Delta, CO, near the town of Hotchkiss, CO. Paddle through the sandstone canyons of the Colorado Plateau and visit Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area with petroglyphs, waterfalls and hiking.

Float by majestic walls of red sandstone and granite sculpted by water through millions of years and ponder the power of the treasured resource beneath you. Geologist Bob Raynolds will explain how water formed these stunning canyons and how rivers like the Colorado have been harnessed and controlled to provide energy. Camping along the river’s banks and exploring a deep box canyon will leave you awed by the immensity of geologic time.

During this Colorado canoe trip, you will be dwarfed by high walls of red sandstone and shale deposited during the age of the dinosaurs. Adults only.
