August 12th - August 16th, 2015
San Juan Mountians Association is helping to promote this exciting Green River canoe trip to a wild and remote area with fascinating history. Our facilitator, Ft. Lewis College professor of history and Environmental Studies, Dr. Andrew Gulliford, will share his stories of the colorful characters and circumstances that helped shape the western landscape as you journey along the river. Open to all.
August 13th - August 15th, 2015
Geography Professor, Dr. James Dunn, University of Northern Colorado, will be facilitating this trip as you learn about the power of water, wind, and weathering in a western environment. Labs and field exercises will be conducted throughout the trip as appropriate. This is a private trip for UNC students taking the course for credit.
August 15th - August 17th, 2015
Away from all the city lights, the wilderness night sky is unbelievably clear allowing us to gaze at the constellations, Milky Way, and maybe galaxies beyond! Denver Museum astronomy experts, Dimitri Klebe and Eddie Goldstein will be providing interpretation and evening entertainment.
