Well okay, I guess the parents can play too. Your guides will facilitate games that can be played on the river and while in camp such as Dead Fish Polo, Scavenger Hunt, Do It In Under A Minute, etc.

Geography Professor, Dr. James Dunn, University of Northern Colorado, will be facilitating this trip as you learn about the power of water, wind, and weathering in a western environment. Labs and field exercises will be conducted throughout the trip as appropriate. This is a private trip for UNC students taking the course for credit.

Colorado canoeing on the Gunnison River will spark your sense of adventure with opportunities for hiking and exploring in one of Colorado's newest Wilderness Areas, Dominguez Canyon, floating in your lifejacket and camping along the river’s edge. During this Colorado canoe trip, you will be dwarfed by high walls of red sandstone and shale deposited during the age of the dinosaurs.

San Juan Mountians Association is helping to promote this exciting Green River canoe trip to a wild and remote area with fascinating history. Our facilitator, Ft. Lewis College professor of history and Environmental Studies, Dr. Andrew Gulliford, will share his stories of the colorful characters and circumstances that helped shape the western landscape as you journey along the river. Away from all the city lights, the wilderness night sky is unbelievably clear allowing us to gaze at the constellations, Milky Way, and maybe galaxies beyond! Denver Museum astronomy experts, Dimitri Klebe and Eddie Goldstein will be providing interpretation and evening entertainment.
