Paddle 60 miles of the Gunnison River on this 5-day adventure, including 7-miles of the beautiful Gunnison Gorge, near the town of Hotchkiss, CO. Paddle through the sandstone canyons of the Colorado Plateau and visit Dominguez Canyon Wilderness Area with petroglyphs, waterfalls, and hiking. Animal sightings might include mule deer, elk, mountain lion, coyote, ringtail cats, desert sheep, neo-tropical birds, raptors, chukar, and river otter.

You’ll be amazed at stands of shiny granite sculpted by water through the ages while paddling or floating in your life jacket past the remnants of ancient metamorphic rock, called Black Rock.

With over 200 rocky, forested islands to explore, the San Juan Archipelago is a superb kayak destination. You’ll experience the fun of paddling and camping on remote islands accessible only by boat! These pristine waters are host to over 80 resident orca whales plus minke whales, harbor and Dall's porpoises, harbor seals, river otters and a variety of bird life. With sublime views of Mt. Paddle along one of the West’s longest stretches of tranquil wilderness water, just north of Canyonlands National Park in eastern Utah. You will marvel at colorful sandstone walls hundreds of feet high. Vast canyon systems and water channels branch in all directions, inviting hiking and exploring and includes some petroglyph panels. This is a private trip for the Skimeisters group.
