The Tito Salas star gazing trip has become a yearly tradition and sells out fast. Tito makes astronomy interesting and most of all FUN for all ages. Away from all the city lights, the wilderness night sky is unbelievably clear allowing us to gaze at the constellations, Milky Way, and maybe galaxies beyond!
When you canoe Utah, you won’t soon forget it. The White River, flowing westward 34 miles from Bonanza, Utah, near the Colorado and Utah border, has been referred to as the best canoeing in Utah. It is certainly the most remote wilderness area of any flat-water river stretch in the West. Few boaters have discovered the wild and secluded beauty of a Utah canoe trip through the White River Canyon. Wildlife abounds, including wild horse herds, antelope, deer and beaver. Fantastic hiking awaits you at the unusual geologic formations of Goblin City. Before or after your trip, you may wish to hike into Fantasy Canyon or Devil’s Playground, featuring other unique rock formations. The water on the White River is generally smooth with occasional rapids up to Class I in difficulty. Excellent camping is found in the cottonwood groves along the river.
Tito Salas, our canoe trip facilitator and Operations Manager at Fiske Planetarium at Colorado University (CU) in Boulder, CO, is hosting a free night at Fiske Planetarium. On Tues. June 4, 2013, from 7:30-9 pm. Tito will be giving a star talk. This event is for all Centennial Canoe customers, their family, and friends. You don't have to go on the canoe trip to enjoy this free evening. Please RSVP to Tito how many will be coming in your party.
